Wishes for Life

2022

This limited edition has been produced in the context of the artist spending a year training as an art therapist on an acute psychiatric inpatient unit, where modes of relationality, power dynamics and unspoken meaning come to the fore. In this context, art is situated as a means of expression beyond language that can offer a space of safety, healing and connection.

Within each print, a unique monotype overlays a spit-bite, sugarlift aquatint to produce a series of formal ruminations on social entanglements, making tangible unseen and unconscious levels of encounter and bond.

Edition: 35 with the first 25 available through MUMA, the final 10 available through Negative Press. Each work is unique, signed and numbered by the artist on the verso.
Size: 38 x 47.5 cm (paper) 24 x 34 cm plate, landscape
